JULY 2023- The last few weeks have seen me entangled with a wild and wonderful vision- to walk with a donkey or a mule from my French village to Lebanon. 4000kms. I am now learning, training, meeting people of voyage who know of our 4 legged siblings . It is truly astonishingly mysterious that way the soul holds to summon one’s whole being - to go beyond the familiar . ---- WHO: Hello dear courageous souls - I am Azul Thomé a woman/mother/sacred activist/soul guide and eARTh artist of 57 years of age - I was conceived and born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1966 where I left a large part of my soul. After 35 years in the UK I now live in France. I am called to going back, on foot, to my land of origin, to the land of my father Jeannot from France the land of my mother called France. It is vital. This longing lives in the cracks and fissures of all that I know. WHAT: In our apocalyptic, divisive and dismantling times of systemic crisis and collapses I long to embark on a slow VOYAGE of GRATITUDE from Chatillon-en-Diois in France to Beirut in Lebanon. DISTANCE: -/+ 4000 kilometers WHEN: Departure 21st March 2024 with a donkey, a mule or a horse and other good company. ARRIVAL: Uncertain probably around a year after the start. WHY: To leave a trail of GRATITUDE, BEAUTY and GENEROSITY in a time of division, destruction and greed. To meet humans and places that have encounter grief and suffering to seed wild flowers and hold circles of beauty. To walk slowly. To walk against the current of speed, achievement and consumerism. APPRENTICESHIP and being a BEGINNER again.: I have never done anything like it. My longest walk was 300m kms on the Camino de Santiago many moons ago. I am at present learning about donkeys, mules and horses. Learning also about my body, my soul and spirit. I am raising funds to buy a donkey or two, to train in animal care, to get legal, to buy the material and tools necessary for the long VOYAGE of GRATITUDE and to purchase offerings of medication and seeds to Lebanon experiencing a systemic collapse.
